bye bye larry

Judah has always been really attached to his larry's. I was DREADING taking them away. But it just kinda happened, it was so easy I can't believe it! He is now 100% larry free!

king of the mountain

We love the huff-n-puff. The boys can walk next to me and I don't have to worry about them getting ran over. It is good for getting out some of that extra little boy energy! And standing on the stumps and yelling "king of the mountain" is a must!

forest festival

I think we celebrated every aspect of forest festival possible this year! Usually it falls on our anniversary weekends so we are out of town, but this year we are going away a different weekend so we were home.

We went to the carnival:

Cohen wasn't tall enough to do any rides, so he got to play the duck game.

Judah was EXTREMELY excited to ride the ferris wheel!

I know it doesn't look like he liked the slide, but I promise he loved it! He rode it a couple of times and that one bump gave him a little scare both times. :) I do love this picture though, it make me laugh every time I look at it.

We went to the parade. Justin had a youth event that day (bummer), but we went with my mom and grandparents.

And lastly, we watched the fireworks.

We also went to the car show, but no pictures from that. It was a fun weekend.

we love summer

We sure have been enjoying the nice weather. The boys spend a lot of time outside. Poor Cohen overheats really easily so we have lots of popcicles and juice boxes as special treats this summer to keep everyone hydrated.

My garden is doing pretty well. We've had some salads out of it, lettuce, peas, and radishes. The boys love to pick the peas out of the garden to eat. I LOVE that they do that! :) This year we are growing: peas (both snap and sugar), lettuce, carrots, green onions, lima beans, green beans, corn, zucchini, cucumbers, watermelon, and cantelope. That is in addition to our strawberries, rhubarb, and all the berries Justin has planted. Our asian pear tree has lots of little fruits on it so I am hoping that will produce well this year. I wish we had a longer growing season than we do, I am determined to try a winter garden this year. I gave it a half-hearted attempt last year, but this year is going to be the year!

I hate bees. Like really, really hate bees. I am trying not to pass that along to my kids, but I have a really hard time not screaming and running when I see a bee. I am learning to stay calm when we see bees, but this nest had to go. Ick.

cohens black eye

A few weeks ago Judah threw a rock at Cohen and gave him a pretty good black eye. The boys fight a lot, but I actually think this was an accident. Poor kid.

The night it happened:

little boy updates

Jax is 2 1/2 months old now. It has gone so fast! He is the perfect addition to our family. He is so easy going and happy. We really lucked out our easy babies. I have to say I think Jax is the easiest of all of them, and the other ones were really easy! He was a little over 10 pounds and 23 1/2 inches at his 2 month check up. The other boys were chunks by this point, maybe the difference between formula feeding and nursing?

Cohen is turning into such a little boy. He is finally talking more and is very opinionated about things. :) He is in a hitting stage that we are really ready to be over with. It has made me realize that even with consistent discipline some kids are still naughty.

Judah is at such a fun stage right now. Don't get me wrong, I love all my kids equally and they all are fun, but Judah just brings me so much joy right now. It's like things are finally clicking in his head. He has become more obedient, he is fun to have conversations with, he is so eager to learn, and he loves to snuggle and hold hands. Nothing beats him giving me a big hug and telling me he loves me. :)

I really love our little family!
