Wii

Wow. I have really fallen behind on my blogging!
The past few weeks have been kinda crazy. First we had Justin's family here, then preparing for Judah's luau, then the luau, and the past few days Justin has been home on vacation. We decided not to go away again on our vacation days, but to stay home and just relax. We bought a Wii! We pooled together our vacation money, date night money, and both of our spending money. So, we spent our whole vacation in front of the Wii! I am not kidding you. It was really nice to be home though. It seems like we never get to just be home and relax, there is always a list of things that need to be done. There was still a list...we just chose to ignore it! :)

We did pick blackberries from the Williams house on thursday. We made a really yummy cobbler out of them. I found the recipe on a food blog that I love!
She has a regular blog that I read. I think Anita linked to her on her blog and that is how I found her. Thanks Anita!
Confessions of a Pioneer Woman
But it is her cooking blog that I am in love with! All of her recipes are so good. And she takes pictures of the necessary ingredients and each step. We have made the spicy shrimp, marlboro man's sandwich and now the blackberry cobbler, and they have all been WONDERFUL.
The Pioneer Woman Cooks!

Judah thought the blackberries were really yummy!

I am now 26 weeks pregnant with Cohen! I cannot believe how fast the time has gone. He will be here before we know it. We haven't started on his room yet. I am feeling a little bit of pressure to start that. We are doing it really simple because as soon as Cohen is born we want to start the process of adopting a little girl from India. So when we get her, the boys will both move into Judah's room. So eventually Cohen's room will be a girls room, so I don't want to do any painting in it or anything. It would just have to be redone in a little over a year. (hopefully the process will go smoothly and we can get her quickly)
We want 5 kids...and we want them close together. :) So basically I will be pregnant or we will be in the process of adopting for the next few years! Exciting stuff.

My garden is doing well. My "crop" of the moment is green beans. I am freezing a lot of them. It will be nice to have stuff tucked away for the winter months. I have also been amazed at the size of my carrots. I thought I was going to grow tiny ones, but these are actually normal sized! My cucumbers have really taken off. I may have a million cucumbers. I am thinking of making some pickles. I don't like pickles, but Justin does and they would make good gifts. But I have to do research and see how hard it is. Anyone have experience with pickles?

I LOVE Pioneer Womans blogs! So exciting to hear about your plans for a large family. Believe it or not my daughter (23) is a mom/step mom to 7 kids! and they want more! I love big families and wish we'd had more...God blessed us with extras along the way, though. Anyways...i used to help my mom make pickles, but that was a long time ago. What kind do you want to make?

I usually put up 40 quarts of pickles a summer, even though I don't really care for them, but my family does and you're right, they make great gifts. Give me a call and I can help you make dill pickles...I have a TON of dill in my garden that needs to get used. They are very easy to make and once you do, you'll never buy them from the store again.

Just so you know, you guys are like the coolest stinkin couple I know! You guys have really great ideas. I bet just staying home and playing the Wii together was fun.

I had no idea you wanted to adopt a girl from India! However, I am not surprised. How come you guys decided to have 5 kids? It seems like some kind of mission. haha.

I should come over soon, I miss your house.

Woo-Hoo! All so fun and exciting! I've never made pickles, but can't imagine it to be any harder than any other cannong. I have an old canning cook book if you'd like to read it.

I sort of wish I had a Wii.
Zelda would be an awesome game to play.

And i'm sorry I don't have any experience with pickles. I never had a green thumb.

Hey, I was thinking of doing some pickles. Not sure if I will or not. I really like the little dills, and my cucumbers are those lemon cucumbers, golf ball like, and best for relish or sliced. Might try the bread and butter, but I looked into it, not hard at all and it's hot water canning method...takes 2 days to brine, then the 3rd day you pickle and can. Except...gherkins...they take 6 days. Recipes Here

my mom canned pickles for years...she'd have info for you.

wow, your carrots are normal. Our are really tiny still. Maybe we planted them too late... well anyway, if you want help with preparing Cohen's room, i think a bible study should be devoted to it.

i think molly is onto something, and i totally agree with the first part of justin's comment...can he take a normal picture???

why India? Just wondering since I don't really know you.

also why not adopt here in the states? there are lots of babies and children that need homes.
