The Big 27

My birthday was on Monday and I am now 27 years old. I am very happy with where I am at this point in my life. Being married, owning a house, having (almost) 2 kids, being a stay at home mom. Those are all the things I would have wished for. I am content. :)
This was the first year in a long time that I had things that I really wanted for my birthday. Lately it had just been things I kinda liked, but this year I really had my hopes up for things. I am very excited about the things I got.

I got a sewing machine. I am VERY excited about this!

My new necklace. For more info on the necklace click here. (thanks again to Anita for a great suggestion!)

I had been unsure on how I felt about crocs. Then I saw these and I love them. Justin is jealous that I have crocs and he doesn't. :)

I also got a bunch of other stuff that I am equally excited about, but don't have pictures to show you. I got stuff to make my own laundry detergent. Very excited about that. I found a recipe for it awhile ago and added the ingredients to my birthday list. I got some clothes, earrings, gift cards, a hair dryer (mine started sparking a few months ago, I have been without one since then!), hair stuff, candle holder, wii stuff (from Justin), and I'm sure other stuff that I'm forgetting. :)

This post makes it sound like I'm all about the presents! That is not the case at all. After being on a tight budget it is such a treat to get so much stuff that is completely for me, especially all at one time. :)

Today I made some bread and some more dill pickles. I've been canning applesauce the last few days and have a big box of pears that need to be canned. I am a little sad that the season of canning is coming to a close. I have really enjoyed doing it this year. It will be weird not to have fruit sitting around waiting for me to can it!

Hey Kristi Girl! Happy Happy Belated Birthday to you! My brain has been very sluggish lately. Have you got a vinegar concoction for that? ;}
I love seeing you so content in your life. It makes me smile. :)
I just discoverd the amazing comfort of crocs. Lynn Settle gave Lauree a bag of clothes and shoes from cleaning out Jennifers stuff and there were a pair of bright pink crocs. I think they are pretty ugly, but the comfort cancles out the ugly. I love your light green ones. Look out...you know what happens when " I like that"...haha.
Anyway, Love your necklace and sewing machine too. That is the necklace I would have picked too. What a great idea that designer had.
Well...happy canning. Glad you are enjoying it so much.

i think the africa necklace/cause is such a great idea...

i wonder if we can get g.deb to start manufacturing little India necklaces with hearts in them to sell so we can buy Priya?

would anyone recognize india?

only 5% of Americans can recognize US on a map... or something like that, south africa, the iraq, such as the like, poverty, india, south carolina...
