hooray for seeds

I placed my seed order today. I am so excited! I ordered from Seed Savers Exchange. I decided to plant all heirloom seeds in my garden this year. We will see how it goes. They sure do have fun names! Here are two I am really excited about:

Romanesco Broccoli

Dragon Carrots

That broccoli looks really weird. Is it supposed to taste anything like normal broccoli?

Oh fun! Now I need to see what we are going to grow. What made you chose those types?

This is the description of the broccoli:

"Beautiful spiraling apple-green head. Widely grown and prized in Italy. Better taste and texture than the finest broccoli. Grows exceptionally well in Northern areas."

I have no idea what it tastes like...hopefully it is good.

I chose some "normal" looking vegetables and a few I branched out on, like the broccoli and carrots.

They had so many fun varieties that you wouldn't find in the grocery store seeds, so I had to try some. I didn't really have any reasons for choosing the ones I did...I am still pretty new to the gardening thing, so hopefully I picked good ones!

None the less you will have a pretty fun garden.

You will have to let us know it all turns out.

the broccoli looks like a picture of something in the ocean..coral maybe? I don't know if I could eat red carrots though. I am looking forward to seeing how your garden turns out!

Good for you, Kristi. I only buy my seeds from Seed Savers and I love them. Excellent quality and taste, plus you can exchange the seeds at the end of the season with other seed savers. It's so fun to buy seeds that have a history attached and you find such unique plants.
