We are going to Holden Village for a few days. I am VERY excited. I've been there before and it is amazing. Probably one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. I'm looking forward to a time of refreshment, I like that one of their core values is this:
REST
We embrace God’s gift of sabbath by offering refreshment to those who are weary.
The place is hard to explain, so you should just check out the website. Shalisa calls it the commune. She may be right. :)
I am also looking forward to using cloth diapers. They provide cloth diapers and diaper service while we are there. (they dispose of their own waste, so they don't want a bunch of disposable diapers hanging around. sounds weird, but once again, look at the website!) I have considered making the switch several times, so am excited at the chance to try them out.
We are going with my dad and his family. I am very excited to spend time with them. Especially since we will be away from all the craziness of life, and will be able to just "be" with them.
And I have to brag about my son for a minute. So we bought him a little potty chair, not to actually start training but just to get him used to it. We usually sit him on it naked while his bath is running. On Sunday night my mom was here and as usual we put him on it while his bath ran. We never check to see if he went in it because seriously what are the odds? But when we went to put him on it Monday night there was liquid in the bottom of it. So on Sunday night he must have peed in it. Hooray! I know it is totally coincidence, but I am really proud of him anyways.
Also I am really proud of my girls.(i call them mine because i love them so much, i hope they don't mind) Lauree, Molly, and Sara all have jobs for the summer and Lauree and Molly are now driving (Sara will be really soon). I just am proud of the women of God that they are and the example they are to their peers. I also love their honesty. Check out Molly and Sara's blogs. Lauree needs to start one too. Maybe if we all bug her about it...

So, I got as far as You thinking about cloth diaper. You should do it! I'm buying you some. I did for my boys, and it is kinda fun(sounds gross, but I loved hanging all those rectangles on the line). If you want to know how we did it, please ask. I love to talk abbout baby stuff.
you should cloth diaper so much fun! I love cloth butts so cute ;)
Makes me like doing wash.
oh I wanted to say hi I'm Sara a friend of Ryan and Shalisa .
You should check out g-diapers (http://www.gdiapers.com), it's what I use with Jayden. They are a good in-between of cloth and disposables. You can flush them, you can compost them, or if you throw them out, they decompose in 50 days, versus the 500 years it takes for a disposable, they are great!! Fred Meyer sells them in their natural food section.
yay!
Hey, I didn't read all the way through this till tonight. Thanks for the nice comment about me and Molly and Sara :)
and I'm still thinking about starting a blog...
I cloth diapered my three kids in rectangles, pins, and rubber pants, same as what's supplied to all families with babies at Holden.
Once you master the folding and pinning, you'll be well on your way. Enjoy your trip.
Tracy.
