I love the library!

Seriously I am in love with the library. I have to thank Alison for opening my eyes to all the possibilities that the library holds. Did you know if the book you want is checked out you can put it on hold. They will call you when it comes in. Or if it is at a different library they will send it to this library and call you when it arrives here. They even have movies and cd's. Lately we have been on a bit of a Veggie Tales craze. Why buy them when you can just check them out?
I was at Barnes and Noble the other day and a book caught my eye. I am a sucker for the funny, easy reads. This one was called "Baby Proof". (I like anything about babies these days!) But it was $15, and I really couldn't justify buying a book that I will read very quickly and probably only once. So I passed it by. But yesterday I was wandering around the library (after we had gotten a call the one of our Veggie Tales was in) and what did I find??? Yes, Baby Proof sitting on the shelf, calling out to me to be read for free! :) Gotta love it.
I am also in the middle of "Pray, Eat, Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert. It is about a women spending a year spread out in Italy, India, and Indonesia. It is more just thoughts than a actual story. She has a couple of really good lines in it. I'm sure I will be posting some of them soon.
So seriously you need to go check out the library!

I agree about the public libraries. My sister is a huge supporter and has really urged me to start utilizing them. She is a single mom and it truly helped her budget to be able to check out movies and books for her three kids. My husband now checks out audiobooks for his commute.

Did you really not know about putting things on hold? Or was that just for the benefit of the people reading your blog....

Kristi...Wait! It gets better. You can do searches and hold things online. This is my favorite. I just type in what I'm looking for, find it and put in my card# and only go in to pick up or drop off. YAY! the library is great...Plus I love Sue and Dee and Carol(of course)etc...http://www.timberland.lib.wa.us/

They also have a craft day now, where you can go in with your crafts and work on them with other "adults"...once a month. AND..if you sign your kids (or grandkids) up for the summer reading project, you can get FREE tickets to pt. defiance zoo or northwest trek. :) i love the library.

The library is one of my favorite places- i'll be honest. At the momnet I have eleven items over due sitting on my floor. I once kept about 7 books and 5 cds so long that they sent me a bill for $825.45. i gave them back. :)
